Provincial ecological well-being performance level measurement and its spatial-temporal evolution analysis in China

Based on the panel data of 30 provinces (autonomous regions and municipalities) in China from 2004 to 2017, this paper used three-stage super-efficiency SBM-DEA model calculate ecological well-being performance (EWP) provincial capital cities analyzed its temporal spatial evolution. The results show that: (①) improvement China’s technological level opening-up can promote performance, while environmental regulation, urbanization level, economic development inhibit (②). After excluding influence external environment random interference, health whole country eastern, central western has been improved, with eastern region having greatest smallest improvement. national presents a pattern “strong region, secondary weak region” (③). levels Beijing, Hainan, Shanghai had always at forefront country, those Ningxia, Inner Mongolia, Liaoning bottom three for long time. gap between is obvious, but within same smaller.
